Arcadia

Arcadia is a renovation concept for a villa in Son Vida featuring distinctive hexagonal architecture. Its unique history and striking shape guide every step of the renovation process.

Background

The villa was built in 1997 based on a design by Antonio Obrador as a summer residence for Adolfo Suárez. Suárez served as Spain’s prime minister from 1976 to 1981 and was a key figure in the transition to democracy following the Franco dictatorship. Its hexagonal architecture and the history of its former resident give the villa in Son Vida a distinctive identity. The challenge was to reimagine the existing structure while preserving the distinctive character of the original design.

Concept and Implementation

Soulvillas worked with architect Fernando Castello to develop a custom renovation concept. The design integrates the existing architecture with new spatial arrangements, carefully selected materials, and state-of-the-art building systems. The garden and views are incorporated into the living spaces, transforming the historic house into a personally tailored residence.

Project Status

The portfolio showcases the developed design. Existing photos and visualizations illustrate the planned renovation of the villa.
